In a swift managerial shake-up, Kitara FC has appointed Wasswa Bbosa as their new head coach, just hours after parting ways with Brian Ssenyondo. The club’s management announced the decision on Monday, October 28, 2024, following a series of disappointing results that saw the Royals languish in the relegation zone with only four points from six matches.
Bbosa, a former Uganda Premier League champion with Express FC, has been a free agent since the end of last season. After extensive negotiations, Kitara FC finalized an agreement with Bbosa, aiming to revitalize their campaign and compete for the league title—a goal that has eluded them this season.
Joining Bbosa’s technical team are George William Lutalo as assistant coach, Ayub Balyejusa, and Richard Kansole as the new goalkeeping coach. The trio previously collaborated at Gaddafi FC two seasons ago before Lutalo was recruited by Kitara to assist Sam Ssimbwa. Lutalo has been a key figure at Kitara since the beginning of last season until this latest restructuring.
Bbosa’s immediate challenge will be to reverse Kitara FC’s fortunes and steer the team towards a more competitive standing. His tenure kicks off with a formidable fixture against URA FC at the Hamz Stadium Nakivubo on Friday.
As Kitara FC embarks on this new chapter under Bbosa’s leadership, the club’s management has reassured fans and stakeholders of their unwavering commitment to improving team performance and maintaining transparency throughout the transition period.
