KAMPALA
Rev. Andrew Kafeero, a priest at Jjungu Parish under Namirembe Diocese, is recovering after being brutally attacked and abducted by unknown individuals on Sunday night.
According to Rev. Canon Kenneth Ssewanyana, a diocesan official, the attack occurred as Rev. Kafeero was leaving the Diocese offices for his home. He was reportedly ambushed, beaten, and forcefully taken along with other occupants of his vehicle.
“He was abducted together with other occupants of the vehicle but later released,” Rev. Canon Ssewanyana confirmed. “It was a terrifying ordeal.”
The vehicle, however, remains missing as police continue investigations into the incident. Authorities have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Rev. Kafeero and the others who were abducted are said to be receiving medical attention and are in stable condition. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
More details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
