More than 1,300 delegates from Africa and the Arab world are expected to converge in Kampala for the Afro-Arab Youth Congress scheduled to take place from October 7th–10th, 2025 at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
The Secretary General of the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC), Hon. Dr. Abbas Agaba, announced the development while addressing journalists at the Uganda Media Centre on Tuesday.
Agaba said the second edition of the Congress will focus on dialogue, innovation, and partnerships aimed at addressing shared challenges and unlocking the potential of young people from the two regions.
“The Congress will include plenary sessions and workshops on peace, climate resilience, entrepreneurship, digital inclusion, and cultural exchange,” Agaba explained.
The meeting will also feature the official launch of a fundraising drive for the proposed Afro-Arab International Headquarters to be established in Uganda. The facility will host a university of science and technology to provide quality education to Ugandan and African youth.
“This is a legacy project that will stand as a beacon of Africa-Arab youth collaboration,” Agaba noted, urging young people to seize the opportunity to learn, network and lead.
Minister for the Presidency, Milly Babalanda, welcomed the initiative, saying the Congress will serve as a platform for youth from Africa and the Arab world to exchange ideas, celebrate cultural diversity and chart a common vision for peace, development, and sustainable progress.
“We reaffirm our collective commitment to empowering young people with the skills, networks and opportunities they need to lead with integrity, innovation and courage,” Babalanda said.
