Sections of Ugandan social media users woke up in the morning only to find they could not access their Facebook profile accounts and pages.
This attracted debates on users who bumped on to twitter pointing accusing fingers on government to be behind the blockades.
Hon. Winnie Kiiza, the former Leader of the Opposition in parliament (LoP) tweeted:
“Is it just me that couldn’t successfully sign into my Facebook account|page?”
The Kasese district Woman member of parliament was not alone facing Facebook login troubles. There are a number of ugandans.

However, the Police Political Commissar, AIGP As an Kasingye was quick to clear the air stating that the blockade is targeting a certain group of people who he didn’t disclose.
AIGP Kasingye replied to Lucky’s tweet.
This comes a day after Facebook blocked all social media accounts linked to the Ugandan government on allegations of posting multiple posts which attracts public debate that may result into violence a head of the country’s Thursday elections, impersonation among others.
Last week, President Museveni (NRM Candidate for 2021 presidential elections) attacked Facebook and other foreign powers alleging them to sideline with opposition groups to overthrow his government.
The president blasted foreign forces that they cannot remove his government. This was after Facebook blocked accounts|pages belonging to pro NRM bloggers and sympathizers.
