KAMPALA
A second-year student of Kyambogo University has died in a fatal road crash in Bweyogerere, a Kampala suburb.
The deceased has been identified as Cherotich Anita Scovia, according to her university identification documents recovered at the scene.
She was reportedly travelling on a boda boda when it collided with a moving vehicle, leading to her instant death. According to the recovered documents, Cherotich was in her second year.
SP Micheal Kananura, the Community Liaison Officer and Public Relations Officer Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety confirmed this report on his X handle.
“The bearer of this Kyambogo University ID identified as Cherotich Anita Scovia was involved in a fatal road crash in Bweyogerere,” SP Kananura posted
Her body was conveyed to Mulago National Referral Hospital mortuary pending identification and postmortem.
By press time, her family or relatives had not yet been traced but efforts to identify and inform them about this tragic incident.
Police have not yet issued an official statement on the crash, but investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident are ongoing.
Authorities have called upon anyone with information about the deceased’s next of kin to report to the nearest police station or notify Mulago Hospital to enable timely burial arrangements.
