KAMPALA:
Augustine Ojobile, a youth who ring led a group of other oppressed youths in Kampala under their umbrella Jobless Brotherhood who were dropping piglets in Kampala city has been arrested.
Ojobile, who also doubles as th FDC Electoral Commission Secretary was arrested on Tuesday at his home in Kasubi Kampala on yet to identify charges.
According to the Forum for Democratic Change, gunmen donned in plain clothes stormed Ojobile’s home arrested and whisked him to unknown place.
“The regime ha started arresting our staff members. This morning plain clothes men arrested Mr Augustine Ojobile our EC secretary and acting Chief Administrative Officer at his home in Kasubi. We’re going to find the reason for his arrest and his whereabouts,” FDC said on Social media.
Ojobile known for his revolutionary behaviours in November 2018 together with others stormed Kampala Central Police Station with fresh piglet heads tied around their necks in protest against skyrocketing corruption practices at the Bank of Uganda.
Donning white t-shirts with blood from the heads flowing all over their bodies, the group were engaged in a scuffle with police officers as they tried to force themselves past the station check point.
Earlier on 15th November 2018, Ojobile and the group had dropped other heads at the Bank of Uganda head offices in Kampala. The painted yellow piglets were accompanied by placards of pictures of the Central Bank governor, Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile and Juma Kisaame, the then managing director of DFCU bank.

It should be recalled that Buganda Road Court in May issued Criminal Summons to Augustine Ojobile, for inciting violence by dropping piglets in Kampala which he denies.
He is also among the six chaotic youths who were arrested in August 2019, for allegedly throwing a bottle of mineral water at Justice Gladys Kamasanyu during Dr Stella Nyanzi sentencing.
On August 2, 2019, Justice Kamasanyu sentenced Nyanzi to 18 months in jail for computer misuse in a case in which she was accused of harassing the First Family in a ‘dirty’ birthday poem about President Museveni’s mother, the deceased Esteri Kokundeka. Remorseful Nyanzi who was following the judgement virtually got her anger auctioned by the unruly youth who turned court room chaotic and justice Kamasanyu was in no minute hit with empty mineral water bottles.
On 14 May, 2021, the Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Fidelis Otwao issued criminal summons to Ojobile to appear in Court on 28th May 2021 to receive Judgement on charges of inciting inconvenience to the public.
Parrots UG has learned that Ojobile who among others denied the charges has never appeared to court as per summons something likely to have fueled his arrest.
His party (fdc) has however pledged to find out the reasons for his arrest and other whereabouts.
“…We’re going to find the reason for his arrest and his whereabouts,” FDC said on Social media
By the time of this publication, police had not issued any official communication about the alleged arrest.
