The ASP Owori Lameca aged 36 years and attached to Kawempe police station has been arrested for the alleged murder of Ssebyaala Brain a business man of Namugongo in Wakiso district.
It is alleged that on 13th August 2022 at around 11pm the late Ssebyaala Parked his car at a road side waiting for a friend and a car knocked him from front which resulted into a conflict and was shot Ssebyaala in the neck and died.
While addressing the journalists at Naguru police headquarters, SCP Fred Enanga the police spokesperson confirmed the incident and confirmed that the suspect has been arrested.
“The suspect after committing the murder he drove straight to his home where the police found him and also the police managed the recover the car that was on the scene and it had a scratch on the passenger’s seat indicating that it is the part that collided with the Ssebyaala‘s car ,” Enanga said.
He said that while carrying out the investigation at the suspect’s home and in his car, they found a carriage of a bullet inside his car.
“We also found a pistol with 13 rounds and one bullet wad missing. We also found a carriage of the 14 bullet hidden in the car,” Enanga added.
Enanga condemned the tragic insistence by their own officer who he says had to protect the victim’s life and property.
“Right now our prayers are with the family of the late Ssebyaala, relatives and friends and we are going to do the best to make sure that justice is revealed to the family of late Ssebyaala,”Enanga revealed.
Meanwhile,IGP Martins Okoth Ochola has condemned the insidence and also tasked CIA to carry out all the investigation to make sure that justice is revealed to the deceased family.
He furthermore reminded the officers of their major duties which is to ensure protection of constitutional rights of all citizens in this country.
