Muni University Chancellor, Emeritus Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi has announced the appointment of Associate Professor Anguma Simon Katrini as new Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university.
Assoc. Prof. Anguma has for last 15 years served in Deputy VC in charge of Academics Affairs but was confirmed to the VC position today, Wednesday 13 September, 2023. This was after the Muni University Council re condemned the same.
He takes over from the founding VC, Prof. Christine Dranzoa who died on 28 June, 2022 at Mulago hospital.
Kefa Atibuni, the Muni University Public Relations and Communication Officer said the appointment started taking effect on September 1 and will run for a period of five (5) years.
Assoc. Prof. Anguma also served in various capacities at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) for a period of 17 uninterrupted years.
