The Arch Bishop of Mbarara Archdiocese His Grace Lambert Bainomugisha has today challenged christians of Ibanda Parish to remain united as their pillar if they are to develop. Ibanda Parish recently hosted the 9th AMDA Caravan, a three-day event that brought together hundreds of Christians from the area and other surrounding districts.
The event has climaxed with high Mass following a medical camp that saw over 9,000 patients receive treatment for conditions ranging from TB screening and initiation to treatment, specialised children’s care and treatment, Cancer screening, dental services, ophthalmology services among others.
Speaking at the event, the Arch Bishop of Mbarara Archdiocese, His Grace Lambert Bainomugisha, emphasised the importance of unity among the christian community if they want to see progress. He urged all those present to keep their faith strong and witness the hand of God working on their programs.
The event was a resounding success, with over 400 million spent in total. Chris Gumirisiriza, the AMDA chairperson, congratulated all members on their hard work and dedication.
Gerevas Ndyanabo, the Catholic head of laity, praised AMDA members for their participation, noting that what started as a simple pastoral outreach has now grown into a massive caravan that embraces all the pillars of the Christian faith.
The 10th caravan has been announced and will be heading to Rushooka Parish in Ntungamo in 2024, under the theme “be vigilant and stay firm in your faith.”
Overall, the 9th AMDA Caravan was a remarkable event, not only for the medical camp but also for the strong sense of community that was demonstrated.
The Arch Bishop’s call for unity and steadfastness in faith will surely resonate with all those who attended, and we can expect the 10th caravan to be an equally inspiring event.
