The Uganda Prisons Services boss, Johnson Byabashaija has launched the vaccination exercise to the prisons staff against deadly coronavirus disease.
The launch was held at prisons headquarters along Parliament Avenue in Kampala on Tuesday March23.
Durng the launch, CG Byabashaija implored all Ugandans to embrace this exercise to save their lives saying that the perceived side effects of the vaccine are more bearable than affliction of the virus.
He further revealed that prisons have now started allowing in visitors to prisoners on condition that the visitors have tested negative for Covid-19 or been vaccinated.
It should be recalled that last year all visits to prisons were called o of off in oorordordeorder to contain the easy spread of the cooronavirus.
In Uganda, vaccination against corona virus started on March10 after the country received its first batch of Astra Zeneca vaccine from the Indian Cerum industries and the exercise is ongoing in various parts of the country.
