As parliament paid tribute to fallen Governor of the Bank of Uganda on Thursday, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Betty Amongi has retaliated her calls for government to giveaway the house that has been officially accommodating the Governor to his family
“I joined the Relatives and friends of the Late Professor Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile to condole with Mama Betty and the children at his residence in Kololo. I asked Hon @Thomas_Tayebwa to make sure that the official residence is given to the family in honor of his Integrity,” she tweeted.
It should be recalled that Among has been heavily invested in eulogizing the fallen Governor.
Alitle while ago on, she posted on her Twitter handle reminiscing of the time he recommended her for a promotion while she interned at Centenary Bank, Gulu.
“As a young intern at Centenary Bank Gulu branch, Professor Mutebile who had visited the Bank recommended me for promotion after watching me go about my work. on his advice, I was promoted to the level of a supervisor and he became my inspiration in the banking sector,” she tweeted.
During a special sitting at Parliament today to honor Prof Mutebile, the Bukooli Central County MP Solomon Silwany, moved a motion for the family of late Mutebile to retain their home in Kololo, a government property.
Deputy Speaker Amongi, who among others welcomed the motion revealed that the deceased widow Betty Mutebile had requested for the same at her husband’s vigil on Wednesday.
