Security operatives in Lwengo district are on a manhunt for a suspect who has been disguising as a madman after finding him with two rifles AK47 type.
The suspect whose identity is yet unknown was spotted by residents in Kasambya-Kalegero, Malongo subcounty, Lwengo district.
Residents called a renown pastor in the area to pray for him since he has healed people of that kind.
It is alleged that the pastor stopped the madman and convinced him to accept and pray with him which he did not oppose.
Pastor’s servants helped to to relieve the suspect of his heavy luggage put it aside, cleaned him and prayers started.
However, the pastor and his servants became suspicious and decided to check the luggage and to their surprise they found two AK47 guns which prompted them to tip the police.
Police says that when they arrived at the church, the suspect had already fled.
The area chairman Jane Francisca has asked the locals to be vigilant and keep a keen eye on every stranger in the area.
The Lwengo Deputy RDC, Charles Lwanga confirmed to the reports noting that they recovered the two guns and hailed locals for being security cautious.
Lwanga pledged to investigate the matter and ensure the perpetrators are arrested and brought to book.
The Deputy RDC also confirmed to the arrest of pastor Maka to record a statement that will help police in investigations.
