The office of the Dokolo South County MP, Felix Okot Ogong has issued a statement on the current health state of the Honourable following a nasty accident inwhich he was involved.
On Friday morning, MP Okot got involved in a road accident at Agwata road junction in Agwata Town Council Dokolo District. He was coming from an assessment visit at a factory under construction in the area together with officials officials from the Uganda Development Bank – UDB.
According to reports, the legislator’s car Toyota Land Cruiser Black in colour Registration Number UBB 972S, overturned while trying to save the life of a man transporting charcoal on a bicycle who abruptly entered the road.
“The accident was caused by a person who was carrying charcoal on his bicycle when he crossed the road abruptly and in attempt to brake to save his life, the Honourable’s vehicle veered off-road and overturned,” read a statement from the MP’s office.
A statement further says that the man’s life was saved while Hon. Okot and his Political Assistant who was occupying the vehicle were rushed to Lira Medical Centre for treatment.
The assessment was done and results showed that both the legislator and his PA are out of danger but sustained minor bruises and were asked to return home.
The office of the MP has appealed to the members of the public to stay calm and appreciated their prayers towards the legislator’s life.
