The Forum for Democratic Change has pledged to deploy its foot soldiers to man at polling stations in Soroti East county safeguarding votes for their candidates

John Kikonyogo, the FDC spokesperson while briefing journalists at the FDC home in  Najjanankumbi said that the Electoral commission has written to them requesting that they only send names of five supervisors to watchover the election process in Soroti East by election. He owever, says that this is unfair yet in normal circumstances they are supposed to be more than 45 supervisors

“Let them not be fooled, FDC will be in Soroti East in full force. We are going to deploy our senior leaders and other foot soldiers to man the elections. So, this business of intimidating our young men manning at polling stations should be out of question. We do not want to see another Kayunga scenario in Soroti. We pray they do not mess up,” said Kikonyogo.

FDC further warned against using illegal and non-resident electoral returning officers deployed in some areas like like Pioneer ward III tasking justice Byabakama and his EC to look into the matter immediately.

In addition, FDC condemned the hooliganism by the ruling NRM by parading the yoth dressed in opposition wears guising as people crossing to their camp.

“We are  getting information from credible sources that when the chairman of the NRM General  Museveni goes to Soroti, they intend to parade more than 1000 youth, dress them in FDC T-shirts  and present them as people who are joining their camp”

“We are aware of that so when they come out try to look into their background  , you will find when they are not FDC” he emphasized.
