Five people including three-year-old children have been confirmed dead after a perimeter wall collapsed on their rented houses in Ndejje – Kanyanya, Makindye Ssabagabo, Wakiso district.
The perimeter wall collapsed on Monday December 4, 2023 during the early morning heavy downpours.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire identified the deceased as Phiona Nabulumba, Nabunywa Geofrey, Moja Fuuku, and two children Liana, Doreen, both 3yrs old.
Other two people, Mukisa Gladys and Sadat survived with serious injuries and we’re rushed to separate health facilities for treatment in critical conditions.
Owoyesigyire added that they have started investigating the cause of this collapse.
Bodies of the deceased were taken to City Mortuary Mulago for a postmortem.
