It was a double joy for some of KCCA FC players after FUFA decided to clear the promise it had made to them incase they win the Kagame CECAFA cup in Kigali Rwanda in july last year.
FUFA president Moses Magogo had pledged $1000 which is equivalent to Sh3.7M to every player and surprisingly all went well at finals as the Kasasiro boys edges Tanzanians’ Azam FC 1-0 through Mustafa Kizza.
On the other hand,Players like Charles Lukwago,Mustafa Kizza,Nicholas Kasoozi,Allan Okello,Muzamir Mutyaba got double shares because they were among the players that ran the unbeaten run and won the CECAFA senior challenge cup in December edging Elitrea3-0 at StarTimes stadium Lugogo that were promised $1500which is Sh5.6M.
A player who confessed that they really received the money told this website that the pledge fulfillment came at a right time.
“Am so super excited that I received the money that FUFA had promised us,am going to use it to boost my small scale businesses that had started struggling in this current situation of Corona virus when we are home in lock down when all the sports are not operating.”
According to this player, the pledged tokens were wired on players accounts starting Sunday 3rd May and yesterday Monday 4th May, 2020 when the last monie were deposited.
The CECAFA senior challenge cup was Ugandas’ 14th title.
