The Territorial Police in KMP East and Nakifuma, are actively searching for a primary school Headteacher on alleged aggravated defilement and impregnanting of his pupil in Primary Seven.
The suspect is Jolly Joe Otim, the headteacher of Grace Day Care Orphanage Primary School in Busenye village, Nakifuma – Nagalama Town Council in Mukono district.
He allegedly defiled and pregnanted a 14-year-old pupil of the same school in August, 2023.
It is alleged that during holidays, the suspect sent for the victim (name withheld) to come to his home. When the victim entered the room, the suspect closed the door, forcefully undressed the victim and sexually assaulted her.
Further reports established that in September, when the victim complained of complications, the suspect gave her Shs5000= to go for a medical check up and she tested positive for pregnancy.
“Again on the 30.09.2023, the suspect gave the victim Shs60,000= to go and carry out an abortion, which the medical workers, objected to and alerted the school Director and the victim’s mother,” police said
SCP Fred Enanga, police spokesperson said a search for the headteacher is ongoing and will be charged with aggravated defilement. He condemned acts of sexual abuse of children by teachers and caretakers and urged parents to keenly monitor their children.
