Winnie Kiiza, the Kasese district Woman MP and former LOP in Parliament of Uganda has expressed her concern to put to use the Shs 20m given by the parliament to each MP.
According to Kiiza, she is intending to closely work with COVID-19 task force Kasese district to draft effective means of using the money.
“I intend to closely work with the COVID-19 district task force to effectively put the 20m Shs to use;” Winnie Kiiza said
Kiiza expressed her concerns during the giving out food donations contributed by the representatives from Kasese district to the district task force meant to support in fight against corona virus disease.
Donations were made on Friday April24th in Kasese. These included; 12000kgs of Maize flour, 18300kgs of Cassava flour and rice worth 2500kgs.
These were handed over to the district task force chaired by Joel Walusimbi, the Resident District Commissioner Kasese.
Representatives who contributed towards this noble cause include among others MPs Robert Centenary, Atkins Katushabe, Sam Baluku and Winnie Kiiza.
She (Kiiza) noted that the donation is not part of the Shs 20m which Parliament allocated to each MP. She urged generous members to contribute towards the Kasese vulnerable communities.
