Popular Journalist, radio host, Felix Biryomumaisho alias Felix Bombadia, has been appointed Station Manager at 105.0 Hunter FM, in Bushenyi.
The appointment, effective January 1, 2024, was made by Hunter FM’s Proprietor and the Igara East member of parliament, Hon. Micheal Mawanda, marking a significant transition for the renowned journalist.
Biryomumaisho replaces Innocent Ariho who remains at the radio station as the programs presenter.
Biryomumaisho, currently well associated with Hunter Radio as “Eishengyero Ry’Abahiigi” weekly political show host airing between 10am and 1pm on Saturdays, brings a wealth of experience to the station and it’s listeners.
His journey with the radio station has been intertwined with its evolution, having been crucial in the newsroom first as the Reporter on Crime and health in January 2019 when he joined and was gradually elevated into positions like Assistant News editor, News Editor, Social Media Manager, Online News Editor, Political Show Host and Global Focus News Presenter
His capabilities were felt through carrying on successful assignments like hosting a number of programs, and as a multiplayer journalist where he delved into critical examinations of administration and managerial issues.
With a journalistic career spanning years, Weno has been a dedicated advocate for issues related to station brand promotion, marketing and improvement for staff welfare.
His commitment and mastery of the microphone have earned him not only a household name status but also established him as a trusted journalistic figure in Bushenyi and beyond.
In a telephone interview with Parrots Media, Biryomumaisho said he is determined to promote the standard of the radio station to outcompete others in the region.
“My strategic plans include regular monitoring for Radio operations and programming, marketing and branding in areas where we have not covered and getting new advertisers to increase sales of this station,” he said
On the claims of poor welfare and low pay of journalists particularly from western Uganda, he stated, “I have already paid a plan and proposal with my boss (Hon. Mawanda), the payments and welfare is the one that I will first handle according to the capacity of my presenters,” Biryomumaisho said.
He said he certainly will not change the current staff because it is capable of leading to the achievement of organization goals but insisted that payments and welfare will be determined by individual abilities to impact the growth and increase sales of the radio.
The seasoned journalist is expected to bring his comprehensive experience in journalism and media management to lead Hunter FM into a new era.
