The former Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt.Hon. Ndugu Ruhakana Rugunda has described fallen Kabale district LCV chairperson Besigye Patrick Keihwa as a dedicated cadre and great mobiliser for the NRM party.

He was a dedicated cadre of the @NRMOnline, a man of the people, and a great mobiliser. He will be greatly missed.

Patrick Besigye Keihwa, the Former Kabale District chairman and Vice president for Uganda Local Governments Association succumbed to the deadly Covid 19.
According to the deceased eldest son Jozes Ainembabazi, his father passed away Thursday evening at Healthstone Clinic in Kyambogo, Kampala where he had been admitted for three days.
Keihwa served as the LC5 chairman of Kabale District between 2011 and 2021.
Last year, he made a failed attempt at a third term, losing in the NRM party primaries.
The news of the death sent shock waves through Kabale and Kigezi region and in the NRM party.
Rugunda joins a number of Banyakigezi and some party officials to mourn their beloved ones.
Andrew Baryayanga Aja the former Kabale Municipality MP described Keihwa as an inspiration to many, a good leader who was always reliable.
Minister David Bahati, who is also the Kabale NRM chairperson said he was “deeply saddened by the passing on of our former LCV Chairperson of Kabale District, Mr. Patrick Keihwa.”
“He was a trusted cadre of the NRM who served the people of Kabale District with dedication and commitment. He will be greatly missed”.
Rapheal Magyezi the designate Minister of Local Government says he talked to him on Wednesday night at 11 pm and that he sounded weak but he had all the confidence that he would pull through but.
A family source told this reporter that Keihwa’s funeral arrangements are underway.
