Police has confirmed that the body of 62-year-old Immaculate Onebe, a resident of Munyonyo who has been missing since January 2021 has been found in a septic tank at her home.
Immaculate Asio Onebe, wife to Francis Onebe was allegedly kidnapped in January,2021. Her family made all attempts to find her dead or alive in vain.
In a media report by the Serena conference based television- NTV, Immuculate’s husband told reports that he had tried by all means as a responsible husband to secure his life but all jis attempts became futile as he could not get help from security personnel.
Later as more questions about Immaculate’s whereabouts and those of abducted opposition individuals especially supporters of Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine National Unity Platform-NUP, continued to arise, police admitted holding her (Immaculate Onebe) in their unidentified custody.
Police told her husband (Francis Onebe) that his wife was in the hands of security.
On Thursday, same police stated that her body has been found decomposing in a septic tank at her home!
This has raised many question about the safety of Ugandans held as prisoners including those who were kidnapped before, during and after the January elections. Many of these abductees have gone missing and their whereabouts remain a mystery while others are being illegally held in Police, SFC, CMI detentions.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire said investigations into Immaculate Onebe’s death have started.
