In a shocking turn of events, an attempted murder of children unfolded in Wakiso District, leaving a community in disbelief and horror. The incident took place at the home of Mr. Ngabirano Christopher and his wife Ms. Ayebare Anita, when an unidentified assailant wielding a dangerous weapon intruded while she was having breakfast with her four children.
It is reported that the assailant demanded a ransom of 5million which escalated into a threatening situation after Ayebare had failed to produce the money, ultimately leading to the attacker targeting the innocent children ranging from 2 to 14 years old. Fortunately, due to the quick response of local residents and authorities, the assailant was apprehended and killed before causing further harm.
Ngabirano who is currently at work in the UAE revealed to our reporter that the two children are his biological children while the other two are; his nephew and his wife’s nephew respectively.
The children were evacuated from the house immediately and rushed to Nalujja Medical Center for urgent medical treatment, as their condition was described as critical. Meanwhile, investigations are underway to identify the perpetrator and uncover the motives behind this terrifying act.
As the community grapples with the aftermath of this heinous crime, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, reassured the public that efforts are being made to bring justice to the victims and their families.
