INVESTIGATIVE REPORT: On Saturday evening, falsehood reports purporting the death of Loyce Maine’s father, a girlfriend who murdered a radio presenter in Bushenyi a washed social media and other news blogs.

A fake Facebook page purported to be in the names of Ddungu Mike, a sports journalist in western Uganda reported that Loyce’s father had committed suicide. However, the exciting post didn’t not detail how the suicide happened.

Another news blog, Cyclone Times Uganda ran a similar story but were biased to report about the incident.

According to a story published at Cyclone Times Uganda, the father whose identity is not disclosed reportedly left a suicide note to his daughter noting that he could not with stand the shame caused to him and the family thus “committing suicide.”

“… sad breaking news reaching our news desk reveals that Loyce Mbaine’s father has committed suicide after her daughter murdered someone’s son in cold blood,” Cyclone Times reported.

“You will not a shame and laugh” the late Loyce’s father note read.

No sooner had the news reached Parrots UG news desk than our investigative team pulled up their equipments to commence its duties regarding the story.

A journalist in Bushenyi whobtalked to Parrots UG investigative team on conditions of anonymity revealed that it was not true that Loyce’s father had committed suicide as alleged by social media users and bloggers.

The source told Parrots UG that the suspect’s family is secure although living in shocks their daughter caused to the family.

Another background source close to Loyce Mbaine told Parrots UG that she was shocked upon reading social media posts but was not hesitant to call home in Rubindi Mbarara to ascertain the situation.

She said the family dismissed the suicide news saying it was falsehoods meant to cause psychosocial trauma to them.

On Friday 12 February, police in Bushenyi arrested Loyce Mbaine on allegations of killing her boyfriend King Allan, a radio presenter at 105.0 FM Hunter Radio located in Kitwe Rwentuha, Bushenyi district.

The  two allegedly first had a fight which made Loyce use sharp machetes to cut King Allan into pieces out of tamper.

Loyce has since been arrested and is currently detained at Bushenyi Central  Police Station while the deceased body was laid to rest yesterday Saturday February 13 at his home in Nshozi village, Bubare Kashaka Mbarara district.
