A 24-year-old youth in Mbarara has bern arrested for alleged impersonation of late Col. Shaban Bantariza son.
The suspect is Nicholad Twinamatsiko, a resident of Rwebihuro Mbarara. He is accused of masquerading as a health worker at Mbarara referral hospital to extort from patients and stealing their properties.
Halson Kagure, the Mbarara hospital Public Relations Officer says that Twinamatsiko was arrested after he attempted to fight a female security officer at the hospital calling for the intervention of caretakers and health workers.
Security became suspicious after the suspect kept on uttering threatening statements calling himself the son of fallen Col.Shaban Bantariza of Mitooma District.
Police from Mbarara Central Police was called in and upon interrogations, it was established that Twinamatsiko has been impersonating as a health worker at the hospital to steal patients and medics of their valuables.

In related stories, another suspect Ronald Tubule was interpreted in Tado village Mbarara with stolen hospital beds.
According to Kagure, the second suspect was arrested following a tip off from residents.
It’s alleged that Tubule sneaked the hospital beds over the perimeter wall with the help of the yet to be apprehended accomplices.
The duo was handed over to police for further interogations on charges of impersonation and theft, respectively.
