RUKUNGIRI: Police in Rukungiri district are hunting for a man on allegations of killing his brother.
The suspect is Mpora Benon, 40, a male adult resident of Katenga cell Nyibingo parish Kebisoni sub county in Rukungiri district.
He allegedly killed his brother, a one Robert Niwagaba,36, resident of the same village.
According to the Kigezi region police spokesman, Elly Maate, Mpora was on Sunday at around 9PM walking back home with his brother Nuwagaba from Nyibingo trading centre when they developed a quarrel over yet unknown reasons.
As the quarrels ensued, the deceased kicked his brother on the ground who stood swiftly and picked a new panga he had bought for his casual works which he used to cut the deceased.
The deceased while bleeding purfesly, made an alarm that attracted a nearby neighbour, Catherine Kyomukama, who separated them before she could be joined by other people.
The victim was rushed to Damson’s Clinic in Kebisoni trading center for first aid where he was pronounced dead before was attended to.
A case of Murder was reported at Kebisoni Police Station by Baguma Justus 27 yrs, a mechanic, resident of Katenga cell at around midnight
Police visited scene of the crime and the deceased body was transported to Rwakabengo Health Center III for a postmortem.
