The Officer in Charge of Kashare police post in Mbarara is nursing wounds after he narrowly escaped being killed by a colleague in last night’s gunfire.
It is alleged that on Thursday night at around midnight, a police cop fired live bullets which injured the police post OC, Sgt Boniface Muhoozi, 53, who was in his deep slumber.
Police has identified the suspect as Vincent Mukundane, a police officer attached to same Police Post.
ASP Samson Kasasiira, the Rwizi region police spokesperson said that the motive of the incident is not yet established. He said that they have arrested the suspect for attempted to kill his boss.
The victim sustaining serious injuries and he is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Mbarara while the suspect is under police custody at CPS Mbarara.
