Mr. Clinton Birugwomuriwe among the eyewitnesses who narrated to our reporter about the incident said that the accident happened near the Rubaare traffick checkpoint and he identified the deceased as Ezra a resident of Nyakagongo cell, Nyanga a boda boda rider at Omungyenyi stage and Dezi Karambuzi from Kyamugashe II cell, Rwemiyaga ward, Rwenanuura-Kakukuru town council, who was LC I, Vice Chairperson.

He couldn’t identify the two who sustained injuries since traffic police promptly rushed them to the Doctors’ Referral hospital in Rubaare town council to save their lives, subsequently the two bodies were taken for postmortem at the same facility.

Mr. Birugwomuriwe said a Senke rider was stopped by a traffic officer at the checkpoint he refused and decided to take a U-turn there met a speeding box body vehicle carrying bags of ground nuts from Ntungamo heading to Kabale as it tried to avoid the Senke that was making a U-turn crashed a Bajaj boxer riden by Ezra and his passenger coming from Rubaare and veered off the road and fall in the roadside trench and injured its driver.

By press time traffic police was yet to issue a statement and it was towing the wreckages of both motorcycles and the motor vehicle to Rubaare Police Station for IOV inspection.
