KAMPALA: Isaac Matovu, a 23-year-old passanger who died in Swift Bus explosions on Monday has been named a terrorist masterminding the same acts, police spokesperson CP Fred Enanga disclosed.
According to Enanga, Matovu is part of the Pader terror group that was sent by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF rebels) to blow up mourners at the funeral of former Deputy IGP Lt Gen. Paul Lokech.
Enanga stressed that Matovu, a resident of Kamuli A Zone in Kireka Kampala has been on police wanted list on similar allegations.
It is alleged that Matovu and his accomplice on Monday boarded a Swift Bus registration number UAU 989T in Kisenyi Kampala with a suicide bomb but in the middle of the road, the accomplice aborted the journey when he requested to get out of the bus and return to Kampala to process his abroad travel documents.
Police bomb squad says that no sooner had the accomplice got out of the Bus, than the bomb exploded and Isaac Matovu died in the explosion.
Enanga has called for calm stating that police investigation to trackdown all the suspects involved in the act are ongoing
