The joint task team in Masaka has arrestedeight (8) suspects in connection with the vicious crimes of Murder, attempted murder and aggravated robberies in Masaka city.
The arrested form a group of the gang that has been recently terrorizing the area targeting Boda Boda cyclists in Masaka, Kyotera, and other neighboring areas. In a period of one week, at least 16 Boda Boda cyclists had been murdered in the Masaka sub region.
According to the police CID Spokesperson Charles Twiine, some of the suspects were clearly identified by the police Cameras and intercepted by the DPC Nsangi.
During the operation, police also recovered one motorcycle believed to be for one of the murdered cyclists which the killers had stolen.
“On interrogation by police, the suspects confessed to the crime an enabled the detectives to clearly reconstruct the scene”.
Police says they are vigorously pursuing other suspects including the buyer of the stolen Motorcycles.
Police said a search to stabilize the region is ongoing and all the perpetrators shall be arrested and dealt with according to the laws.
