In a recent turn of events, police in Kabale have apprehended a Rwandan national, Shimark Alfonse, for attempting to vandalize and steal a solar panel located at NSSF Makanga road, central division Kabale municipality.
The incident took place on 10th April,2024 at around 5am, with two suspects initially spotted at the solar panel site. One of the suspects managed to escape on a bodaboda, leaving Alfonse caught red-handed on top of the solar panel.
ASP Elly Maate, the PRO KIGEZI, has assured the public that operations against vandalism and theft of solar panels will continue until all perpetrators are brought to justice.
He urges the community to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to such crimes. The police are working tirelessly to gather more information about Alfonse’s associates to ensure that all individuals involved in this illegal activity are identified, arrested, and prosecuted.
