Police in Entebbe has arrested, Nkurunzinza Laurent alias Mulaalo 38, a casual labourer and resident of Bukola village, Nkumba Parish in Katabi Town Council Wakiso district on allegations of killing a woman and burying her body secretly.
The deceased is Prossy Twinomujuni, 28, a resident of Kawafu cell, Nkumba Parish Katabi Town Council in Wakiso District.
She was previously reported missing and a case of disappearace was registered by her husband on 7th December 2021.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy spokesman for Kampala Metropolitan Police, they arrested Nkurunziza as a prime suspect and upon interrogation, he told detectives where the body of the deceased was.
“Yesterday June 23, 2022, he led Flying Squad Unit operatives and detectives to his work place in Bukolwa village, Nkumba Parish, Katabi Town Council in Wakiso District where the body was buried.” Owoyesigyire explained
He said that the suspect had burried the victim in the piggery farm.
“Twinomujuni Prossy(now deceased) was found buried in a white polythene bag,” Owoyesigyire added
Police also recovered as exhibits hammer and a hoe suspected to have been used in the murder and digging of the grave, respectively
The body of the deceased was taken to the city mortuary at Mulago for a post mortem.
The suspect has been detained at Nateete Police Station as investigations continue.
Police is yet to identify the motive of the murder.
