At least one person has been confirmed dead after a three storeyed building that was under construction collapsed in Nansana.
The incident has happened today at Kabulengwa Nansana municipality in Wakiso district.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire has identified the deceased as Joseph Kaweesa 29, the owner of the collapsed building.
“Today (16/072021) at Kabulengwa in Nansana Municipality at around 12:48PM, a storeyed building under construction collapsed & killed the owner, who has been identified as Kawesa Joseph, 29.” Owoyesigyire tweeted.
O woyesigyire said police Fire Prevention and Rescue Services are still at the scene in search for the foreman of the site building, who is believed to still be trapped under the rubble. The deceased body has been rushed to KCCA mortuary, Mulago, for a post mortem.
Police is on investigations to asses the suspected cause of the collapse buildings and victims.
