The territorial Police in greater Masaka and CPS Masaka, has in custody 22cordinators of the SUPER LIFE  company of charges of trafficking in persons.

They are accused of mobilising and recruiting persons under a fludent and employment scheme.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga told reports yesterday that the group mainly targets s.4 and s.6 leavers whom they introduce to their various packages for lucrative business.

According to him , most of the victims were recruited from the Western districts of Ntugamo ,Mbarara, kabale and Kiruhura.

“So far, a  total of 98 victims ( 27 females and 71 males) have recorded their statements ,indicating how they  were fleeced their money through registration , many are forced to rent cheap rooms in slums, with false hope  of lucrative job package”.  Enanga explained

He also indentified the arrested suspects as Ayebazibwe Amon, Masiko Nicholas, Kamugisha Nicholas, Mugisha  Nicholas, Abaho Denis, Akampurira Denis, Byaruhanga Ahamada,Byamuka Innocent, Atukwase Mauren, Ariniwera Immaculate , Tusingwire Joseph, Kyohirwe Catherine, Gumoshabe Mackline, Ninshaba Mercy,Nuwahereza Apophia, Aruhaire Shidada, Nizeyimana Vicent, Turinawe Dinah,Turyahebwa Dickson, Agaba Ambrose and Turinawe Brendah.

They are being detained on charges of  aggrevated trafficking in persons

Police also conducted a search on the company’s  offices on Muteesa plaza and several exhibits were recovered.

Enaga has vowed to crackdown perpetrators involved in fraudent human trafficking hence appealing to citizens to report anybody suspected of dealing in similar business.

“As the joint security agencies, we want to to reaffirm our commitment  in combating trafficking in persons networks, to help mitigate the risks of labour exploitation.
