SC Villa’s short unbeaten run came to an end against Wakiso Giants FC at Kavumba Recreation Grounds. Villa were on the back foot after conceding an early goal in the 9th minute by Titus Ssematimba.
In the 22nd minute Moses Aliro netted for the purple Sharks to double their lead and Two minutes later, Titus Ssematimba bagged his second goal sinking villa into the soaked Kavumba.
Wakiso Giant’s first half goals were largely inflicted on the poor ball clearing and positioning of the Jogoo’s defenders.
Villa had a stirring second half with a dictating possession that saw them earn a spot kick as Travis Mutyaba was fouled by Wakiso’s defender Kawooya.
Umaru Lutalo stepped up to take the penalty kick that was saved but he later scored from a rebound to give Villa a goal in the 65th minute of play.
Travis Mutyaba deserves a honorary mention for his back to back entertainment as he dribbled past a forest of legs with ease.
This was Villa’s first home match and second in the 2021/2022 season and it’s fair to say it stunned Kavumba into silence.
