Three children in Agago district are nursing wounds after an ordnance they were playing with exploded leaving them injured.
The incident happened on Tuesday at around 2PM in Admii village Alwee parish,
Agengo sub country Agago district.
The injured are Charles Samuel Okidi, Sam Onyango and John Oloya, all juveniles below 12 years.
According to the Agengo sub county LCIII Chaiperson, Simon Oromakecha, the trio picked unexploded ordnance from the nearby bush at Ywewii near Alwee parish and hid it from their parents for two days.
He added that as they played their kid games, the ordnance exploded leaving them injured. Oromakecha told reports that Okidi lost two fingers while the other two children sustained with stomach injuries.
He says that two more unexploded ordinances are still stuck in the ground in the Bush threatening to explode.
The Agago Resident District Commissioner, Susan Akany says a team of experts will visit the place to carryout further investigations to establish what could have happened.
Northern Uganda still has a number of unexploded ordnances following years of the Lords Resistance Army rebel and UPDF war activities and other insurgencies in the region something that put lives of the people at a risk.
