The territorial police of Kisoro have arrested the two suspects who were seen in a video circulating on social media torturing two male juveniles.
It is alleged that the juveniles whose identity is protected because they are minors were in November last year caught red-handed for breaking into a house of a one Nyirabagenyi Sylvia, a Gakoro cell with the aim of stealing therefrom. They were subjected to assault by their uncle’s (suspects) who tied them by Kandoya and beating them as a way of disciplining them.
Yesterday (January 11) a video of the suspects assaulting the minors leaked on social media and police from Bunagana made arrest.
Aip Baguma Ivan, a police officer attached to Bunagana police station in Bunagana Town council Kisoro District identified the suspects as Gerald Byiringiro 34, and Emmanuel Mugisha 47, both residents of Gakoro cell Gasasa ward Bunagana town council Kisoro district.
The Kigezi region police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate said the duo was arrested on Thursday afternoon (12/01/2023) pending court on Friday. The case reference in CRB 039/2023 and inquiries are according to Maate complete.
