Two priests from the Hoima Catholic Diocese were involved in an accident in Bukwiri on Saturday evening.
Rev. Fr. Businge John of Murro Catholic Parish and Rev. Fr. Mukisa Peter of Kibedi Parish, both recently ordained, were traveling to Hoima side when a vehicle in which they were traveling, a Toyota Premio registration number UBJ 668 R veered off the road causing the accident at Kayunga in Katanabirwa town, Kyankwanzi district along Kampala – Hoima highway.
The duo was rushed to Bukwiri at Sr. Amadeo Health facility where they were later evacuated to Rubaga hospital, Kampala.
The priests were ordained on July 27, 2024, at Bujumbura Cathedral in Hoima City. Fr Mukisa Peter is a priest at Kitana parish while Fr Businge John shepherds at Kasambya parish.
Details of the accident remain scarce, but sources close to the scene report that both priests sustained injuries that required immediate medical attention.
Reliable sources at the diocese indicate that the priests are in good conditions
“According to the results of the scans, the two brothers are safe from internal injuries. They are now managing external wounds, pain and shock. We thank you for your prayers and we ask for more,” source said.
