According to Rogers Byabakama the chairman FUFA licensing committee said that only URA and Wakiso Giants are the only teams with full license for 2019-2020 season.

Uganda Cranes Head coach Abdallah Mubiru and his 18 man Squad are in Djibouti ahead of the CHAN 2020 Qualifiers against Somalia due this Saturday 27th July 2019 at Al Haji Hussein Guled Stadium, 6pm.

The Squad was trimmed to 18 players after a practice match with Proline FCon Wednesday 24th July, 2019 which ended goalless at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo.

The first leg is set for 27 July 2019 Somalia Vs Uganda in Djibouti at Al Haji Hussein Guled Stadium at 6 PM local time while the second leg is on the 3rd of August 2019,
Uganda Vs Somalia at Star Times Stadium, Lugogo with kick off set for 4PM.

The 18 man team included;
James Alitho (URA FC), Charles Lukwago (KCCA FC), Tom Masiko (Vipers SC), Mustafa Mujuzi (Proline FC), Mbowa Paul Patrick (URA FC), Paul Willa (Vipers SC), Kizza Mustafa (KCCA FC), Ibrahim Juma Sadam (KCCA FC), Kayiwa Allan (Vipers SC), Lwanga Tadeo (Vipers SC), Mutyaba Muzamiru (KCCA FC), Kagimu Shafik Kuchi (URA FC), John Revita (Express FC), Awany Dennis Timothy (KCCA FC), Serunkuma Dan Muzeyi (Vipers SC), Kyambadde Allan (KCCA FC), Kaddu Patrcik Henry (KCCA FC) and Allan Okello (KCCA FC).

Meanwhile, local football regulatory body Fufa in line with the club licensing roadmap of 2019-2020 it has comfirmed only 11 clubs  with absolute mandate to take part in the next season out of 16 clubs, they include,KCCAfc,Tooro United,Maroons,Wakiso Giants,Proline,Expressfc,Bright stars,Bul fc,URA,Mbarara city and Vipers,

According to Rogers Byabakama the chairman FUFA licensing committee said that only URA and Wakiso Giants are the only teams with full license for 2019-2020 season

Four clubs including KCCA,vipers,Maroons and proline were granted provisional licenses because they have not yet met the necessary requirement and have been granted a grace period up to  Friday 26/7/2019.

Bright stars fc Express FC, BUL FC, Mbarara city FC, Tooro united were denied licenses as they have few requirements to meet.

OnduparakaFC, Kyetume FC, Police FC, Busoga fc, SC villa failed to submit the minimum requirements within the deadline and they have high chances of not participating in the league next season.

Different clubs from the star times Uganda premier league have continued with the atmosphere of searching process during the transfer window in preparation for the star times premiere league new season.

Currently, URA that finished third in the star times premiere league last season with 51 points has officially finalized the 10th signing; they include Ibrahim Dada Juma on a 3 year deal contract until 2022,John Ssenazzi,Anaw Ntege,Ashraf  Mandella,Samuel Mwaka,Brian Majwega,IvanSserubiri,Mikdad Ssenyonga,Ivan Ntege,Hassan Kalega.

Muwadda Mawejje after the finishing of his contract at KCCA, he has decided to join the purple sharks (Wakiso giants) on a free transfer basis after taking part in the maiden top flight experience last season.

As clubs continues their summer spending period, vipers who made it to the second position have so far finalized two deals of Paul Willa, and Allan katiwa as Siraje Sentamu made a return to the club.

Vipers currently sacked the Kenyan born coach Michael Nam Ouma after the club failed to defend the tittle they won in 2018.

In the same manner Mbarara city the Ankole lions finished fifth last season have confirmed the already done deals of onduparakas’ midfielder Solomon Okwalinga and Bashir Muweesi from Katwe united.

Similarly Uganda prisons run football club maroons recently officially unveiled Dagrus Bamweyena as their coach after taking over from Robert Ssekweyama who completed the season after Best George Nsimbe stepped aside.

Tooro united have also sealed a deal to sign former Express FC midfield Derrick Tekwo, he joins Denis Mugerwa and Gerald Lule from (Water FC), and Charles Musige (Nyamityobora FC) as the latest arrivals at Tooro United as they bid to perfect their best performance in the top flight, last season

Tooro finished 4th last season with 49 points.

Last season padha black Angels ,mbarara based Nyamityobora and Ndejje fc were relegated from the league last season, as Wakiso giants, proline fc and kyetume fc were promoted from the Big league to the star times premiere league.
