Uganda’s Nanyondo have failed to advance in Olympic finals. This is after the two Halima Nakaayi and Winnie Nanyondo , advancing to the 800m semi’s .
Nakaayi and Nanyondo have failed to progress to the 2020 Tokyo olymOlym women’s 800 final . Nakaayi came last in her heat with 2:04:44 and this heat was won by Jamaican Natoya Goule with (1:59:57) .
While in heat 3 won by Team GB’s Kelly Hongkinson, Nanyondo finished the 5th posting 1:59:84 and failed to progress to the finals which will take place on 3rd August 2021, and this will be a Tuesday.
However, Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo won Uganda’s first medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. These two finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 10,000m race. Therefore we congratulate all these stars for their taken step to raise Uganda and making it proud.
