Rubanda: Police in Rubanda district are investigating circumstances under which a boda boda cyclist was murdered in a mob justice.
The deceased identified as Akankwasa Bruce 20, is a resident of Kitumbezi cell, Eastern ward, Bubare Town Council in Rubanda District Kigezi region.
Info established by the Parrots UG indicates that Akankwatsa was on Tuesday May 4, assaulted by mob after they suspected him of attempting to defile a 16 year old girl a resident of same area.
He was later rushed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital where he breathed his last.
The Kigezi regional police spokesman Elly Maate confirmed to these reports disclosing that they visited the scene of the crime and carried out a postmortem.
He noted that no suspect has been arrested yet and police is looking into the matter.
A case of defilement was registered at Kabale Central Police Station under Reference no. CRB 198/2021.
