ABIM:
Another unarmed civilian has reportedly been shot dead by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces- UPDF officers in Abim District.
The deceased is Godfrey Ochaya Omer, estimated to be in his 20’s, a resident of Kanu in Abim Sub County, Abim district.
He was shot dead on Friday morning at around 8:30 AM while driving his animals to Kanu hills for grazing.
Ochaya, armed with a bow and arrow as any typical herdsman in the region was shot dead by the trigger happy and blood thirsty security personnel attached to the UPDF.
Peter Logiro, the Abim resident district commissioner, confirmed to the shooting incident. Logiro regrettably said the deceased entered an ambush of soldiers who mistook him for a rustler.
This is the second shooting in the district by government security personnel this week.
Recently, UPDF officers deployed in Katakwi district again shot Dead another civilian who was also looking after his cattle.
