An Unknow person has on Monday afternoon dropped two puppies at the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party Headquarters in protest against the current party leadership.
The two puppies, painted in the party color (blue) were dropped at the party entrance gate while President Museveni convoy made its way to the State House Entebbe.
According to eye witnesses, an unidentified youth dropped a box at the gate while the party weekly press briefing was ongoing.
Eye witnesses say that the youth immediately disappeared in thin air only to realize moments later that the box contained two young puppies painted with blue color and printed placards on A4 Papers with a message attacking the party Secretary General Hon. Nandala Mafabi for violating party constitution.
“Secretary General ori Mbwa ya Museveni, Togoberede semateka wa party ya FDC,” read the Luganda message on a placard. “Secretary General is Museveni’s dog, he has failed to follow the FDC party constitution.”
According to other placards which Parrots UG has seen, the disgruntled youth are demanding for new party structural leadership arguing that the tenure of the current leadership expired in June 2020.
“Twetaga Obukurembeze obubya kubanga bwa gwako nga 31/6/2020. Mubwangu Ddala!!!” the youth demanded.
As on lookers were still puzzled with the act, a youth believed to be an insider in the FDC came and picked the puppies together with the placards and taken them away.
Parrots UG reached Deputy Spokesperson, John Kikonyogo who was in the office at the time for a comment and the party’s side on appointing new structures, but, he denied commenting anything and referred us to the Secretary General. Attempts to speak to the party SG Hon. Nandala were futile by press time.
Chapter Five of the FDC Constitution provides for the party structures at the village, parish, sub-county, District, National and Diaspora level for its efficient organization.
The committees which are established for the discharge of the party functions run for a period of five years indicating that the tenure of the current leadership expired in June 2020.
