Woman murdered in Kanungu over husband

Police in Kanungu are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 30 years old Ester Kyomuhendo a Resident of Mukono village, Southern Ward, Buhooma Town council Kanungu district, who was allegedly murdered by one Christine Saturday 35 years of the same address.

As reported by the area chairperson one Bernard Ndyenaku 60 yrs, that on 14/01/2023 at around 18:30hrs, the two met and fought over a man when the deceased had gone to visit the mother in law but still in court ship with the man who is already married to the suspect Christine Saturday the suspect.

Police at Butogota police station was notified, alerted  Kanungu CPS  and the crime scene was visited by a team of detectives headed by D/Asp Dusabe Innocent the D/CID/O and body  was taken to Bwindi community hospital pending postmortem.

The PRO Kigezi regional police ASP Elly Maate has confirmed this and the suspect was arrested as investigations continue under case CRB/046/2023

Afande Maate advised women to learn to control their anger as it has led most of them to prisons over marital fights. Maate said that it is useless to fight for a man and end up in prison as the man remains out enjoying every bit of his life.

ASP Maate noted that police condemns such acts and said that the cases have greatly rised since December last year.
