The Uganda Examinations Board has strongly warned agsinst examination malpractice ahead of the Uganda Certificate of Examinations due to commence this Friday 14October 2022.
Speaking to journalists at the media centre in kampala the UNEB Executive Director , Dan Odongo said that the board has deployed over 10,000 security personel to guard against malprctice.
“The Board is partnering with various security agencies as well as contacted professionals and heads of Centres in the conduct of this examination.” Odongo said
The board will deploy 1595 securityOfficers, 16611 scouts and 22214 supervisors and invigilators to keep the high levels of integrity during this period.
He adds that any one found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with the provisions Of the UNEB act of 2022.
Section 23 of the UNEB act provides that any person who attempts to gain possesion of any material or any part of an examination paper, examination material or any other material or information which purports to relate to the contents of an examination paper, commits an offence and on conviction to a fine not exceeding 10years or both.
UNEB has further forewarned heads of centres to avoid the habit of pulling students out of examination rooms due to fees issues.
“The Board will work with schools to put in place measurs to assit them recover fees even after the examination has been done by a defaulting candidate,” Odongo. emphasized

The Uganda Certificate of Examination will start on october 14 with the briefing of candidates and then officially start on Monday 17 with candidates sitting for their first paper. The board has also scheduled prayers to take place from 14th october to 16th october
A total of 39,445 candidates registered to sit for the UCE examination from 3,703 centres accross the country.
