The suspect told police that his wife died six years ago and he was sleeping with minors to sexually satisfy himself.
Masaka City: Police in Masaka have arrested a 48yr-old Dad on allegations of aggravated defilement on his five minors whom he infected with HIV/AIDS.
The suspect is a resident of Bwabikere village, Kalagala parish in Making web sub county in Masaka city where he works at his carpentry workshop.
According to police reports, the suspect admitted he has been sleeping with his five children between the ages of 8 and 13yrs to satisfy his sexual feelings.
Police further noted that he was caught red handed defiling a minor by a resident (undisclosed) who alerted the Local Council Chairperson, Mr Paul Lutaaya and the matter was reported to police.
The officer in cahrge of Childrens affairs at Masaka Central Police Station, Ms Juliet Shida revealed that the suspect was subjected to HIV testing at Masaka regional referral hospital as part of the investigations.
She adds that results tested positive for HIV and all his alleged victims were also subjected to testing only to be found positive for HIV/AIDS.
Police said the suspect shall be charged five counts if aggravated defilement.
Ms Shida revealed that Masaka has so far recorded over 79 cases of defilement in the last four month since the lockdown was declared. She condemned sexual acts against children and women and appealed to people to report all cases of sexual harrasments to the authorities.
