In an official statement, FUFA, Uganda’s football governing body, announced that Ugandan referees have been selected by FIFA, the international football governing body, to officiate at the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 African Qualifiers Matchday 5 fixture between Eswatini and Cameroon on March 19, 2025, at Mbombela Stadium, South Africa.
The appointed referees are Kasalirwe Lucky Razake as the center referee, Katenya Ronald as the assistant referee, Mulindwa Hakim as the second assistant referee, and Nabadda Shamirah, who made history as the first female Ugandan referee to officiate at the Olympic Games, serving as the fourth official.
This appointment is a significant milestone for Ugandan refereeing, showcasing the country’s growing influence in international football officiating.
The selection of Kasalirwe Lucky Razake, Katenya Ronald, Mulindwa Hakim, and Nabadda Shamirah reflects their dedication, expertise, and the confidence FIFA has in Ugandan match officials.
