Parrots media earlier reported that a fire had gutted Mogas fuel station in seeta as it was reported by the authorities.However,it has been confirmed by Superintendant of Police Kananura Micheal the public relations officer for the directorate of Traffic and road safety that a timber building near Mogas Petro station was gutted by fire.
”A fire has gutted a building (containing timber) in Seeta near Mogas petrol station. @PoliceUg diverted motorists to alternative routes as firefighting efforts continue”.Kananura confirmed in a statement.
Kananura has advised motorists to use alternative routes for the smooth running of their businesses.
The alternative route cleared by the directorate of Traffic for motorists from mukono to Kampala is Seeta -Sonde- Namugongo to City Centre whereas the motorists from Kampala to Mukono have two options.
First option.
Northern Bypass -Nalya – Kyaliwajjala- Sonde-Seeta.
Second option
Spear Motors- Bweyogerere- Namanve- Mukono.
Kananura has informed the motorists and the public at large to expect delays on these alternative routes and has requested the motorists to follow traffic guidance and drive carefully as emergency teams manage the situation.
According to the Annual police crime report of 2025,a total of 1,310 incidents and rescue operations were handled compared to 1,595 in 2024 representing a 17.9% decrease.Out if the incidents registered,1,000 were fires while 310 were rescue operations.970 fires were responded and managed by response teams.20 were handled before arrival and 10 were false calls.
