The Mitooma district Woman MP Hon Agasha Juliet Bashisha has challenged men to always go with their pregnant wives for antenatal care and support them during maternity period.
Hon Agasha Juliet says it is really challenging to find expectant mothers at medical centres alone without their husbands at the time they expect to give birth which gives hard time to the expectant mothers and the medical workers to take the whole care alone.

She now wants men to always provide financial support to mothers and escort them to the health centres prior, during and after birth so that lives can be saved and the work of medics also eased.
Hon Juliet was speaking to expectant mothers at various health centres in Mitooma district on Monday 23rd October 2023. She also donated maama kits and other labor supplies to expectant mothers at Mitooma Health Centre IV, Kabira Hc III and Mutara Hc III all in Mitooma district.
She tasked pregnant mothers to always follow medical guidelines and always go to medical centres early especially the time they expect to give birth in order to produce health babies.
“We recently lost a mother in Kanyabwanga because she delayed to go to hospital and we don’t want such incidences to happen again so pliz always come to hospitals in time because you and your baby matter alot to us,” she explained.

Sister Kamajani Bonny, in charge Maternity Mutara Hc III thanked Hon Juliet for supporting the mothers stressing that most of them have been coming without the materials and maama Kits. She says the maama kits will reduce on costs that have always been in charged to the expectant mothers at various medical centres.
Expectant mothers who talked to our reporter after getting maama Kits thanked Hon Juliet for remembering them and vowed to always follow medical guidelines to save their lives and lives of unborn/born babies.
