Several people are feared dead and many others injured after a four storeyed building that was under construction collapsed on Friday evening in Makindye Kampala.
The incident occurred in Kelezia Zone, Makindye Division Kampala few metres behind Calenda Guest House at around 9PM.
Police fire and rescue team in coordination with KCCA quickly responded to the distress call and reached at the scene of the incident to ascertain the situation.
By press time, efforts by police rescue services and KCCA to rescue people trapped in rubbles were underway.
The number of victims had not yet been established by publication time however, residents who talked to Parrotsug said some of the porters and other construction workers were sleeping over at this site.
This is a second storeyed building to collapse into debris in Makindye division in a period of less than half a year.
Its understood that in May this year,another buildings collapsed in Lukuli Kiwempe zone Makindye division claiming lives while others sustained lifetime injuries.
