Bishop Ogez High School in Bushenyi district southwestern Uganda is on the spot after allegedly suspending a student for taking a double share.
This is after social media users took on the internet and posted a suspension chit claiming the school suspended one student and directed him to pay a fine of Sh50,000 upon his return to the institution.
The student with too much appetites has been identified as Kiiza C, according to the suspension chit and he is being accused of taking a double share of the meal at school.
In a suspension letter dated 19th July, 2022, Deusdedit Kabigumira, the headteacher states that the culprit has been suspended indefinitely. This means that it will be a school to determine on when to recall him back to school.
This comes at a time when the country is faced with acute hunger due to the high commodity prices.
Some private schools which cannot afford to feed students have been forced to break off for second term holidays contrary to the dates set on the government academic calendar. Our attempts to get a comment from the Headteacher, Mr. Kabigumira were futile by press time
